Clear Aligner

Clear aligners are made of plastic trays that fit around your teeth and gradually move them into place. At Foothill Dental Care, the aligner will be replaced every few weeks, and new adjustments will be made to help progressively shift your teeth into place. Clear aligners are typically used to treat mild misaligned or crowded teeth cases, though more severe conditions may require braces instead.

Unlike traditional braces, clear aligners can be removed for eating and drinking, including coffee, wine, soda, the occasional popcorn at the movies, and more! You won’t have to worry about adjusting your diet to accommodate your braces!

How Do Clear Aligners Work?

With clear aligners, there are no metal or wires to irritate your mouth. The aligners are smooth plastic that fits tightly yet comfortably over your teeth. Each aligner is custom-made for you to move your teeth in small increments based on the exact movements your dentist plans for you. Each set of aligners will be worn for around two weeks, except for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. When you replace each aligner in the series, your teeth will gradually shift until they have straightened to the final position your dentist has suggested.
